SlideMark.io ("SlideMark", "we", "us", or "our") operates the SlideMark.io website and service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

When you create an account, we collect your email address. You may optionally provide your name and a profile image.
Content
We store the presentations, slides, and media files (images, videos) you create and upload to the Service.
Usage and Analytics Data
We collect analytics data about how you use the Service, including which features you use, the types of content you create (e.g., diagrams, AI-generated slides, exported presentations), slide creation events, and general usage patterns. This data helps us understand how the Service is used and improve it. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to collect this data.
Session and Technical Data
When you log in, we collect your IP address and user agent (browser and device information) as part of your session data. This is used for security and to maintain your authenticated session.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. We may receive and store limited billing information such as your subscription status and billing email.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send you transactional emails (e.g., magic link login emails)

3. AI Features and Your Data
When you use AI-powered features, the content you submit (such as documents or text) is sent to third-party AI providers to generate slides. We do not use your content to train AI models. The AI providers process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service:
- Email delivery — for sending login and transactional emails
- Payment processing — for handling subscriptions and billing

5. Shared Presentations
When you share a presentation via a public link, anyone with that link can view the presentation content. Be mindful of the information you include in shared presentations.
6. Cookies and Tracking
SlideMark uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Umami) is privacy-focused and does not use cookies to track users across websites.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and media files are stored using cloud storage. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Session data expires after 7 days of inactivity.
- Login tokens (magic links) expire after 10 minutes.
- Uploaded media that is no longer associated with any presentation is periodically cleaned up.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your account
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Export your presentations (e.g., via PowerPoint export)

10. Children's Privacy
SlideMark is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
